This site started with information provided by the ROOSE FAMILY ASSOCIATION'S former President, Kenneth Roose. It is the story of our GERMAN ancestors, Frederich (1712-1785) and Christina (1716-1785) who boarded the SHIP OSGOOD in Rotterdam for the three to four month trip which ended at the Port of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) where Fredrich signed the Oath of Allegiance to the King of England on September 29, 1750.
We hope you will enjoy discovering more about your ancestors, their descendants, and where your "twig" fits on the tree. If you have data and/or pictures to add let us know. With your help and that of our Research Team, we aim to keep the data as complete and correct as possible.
NOTE: Surname spellings used by Frederich's ancestors include RUOSS, REUSS, and RUSS. Other surname spellings that have shown up in various documents include RUSZ, ROOS, RUSE, and ROSE as well.
Finally, if you are looking for ROOSE family members from BELGIUM, ENGLAND, NEW ZEALAND, etc., we suggest you check out the website www.geneanet.org.
Please note: This website is for ROOSE relatives/ancestors. Please do not add your spouse's grandparents, siblings etc unless he/she also has a line traced directly to a Roose ancestor. Anyone not directly related to Roose will be deleted without advance notice. This tree is meant for Roose relatives to find information - it is not intended as anyone's individual tree. Thank you.
